Free a Girl is looking for a pro- active and independent intern to carry out a desk study of results and lessons learnt in preventing and fighting sexual exploitation of children.

Free a Girl

Free a Girl is an international organisation dedicated to freeing young girls from forced prostitution, to providing them with shelter and to prosecuting offenders. In the past 9 years we have contributed to the liberation of thousands of girls from brothels as well as supported their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. We support partner organisations that have a strong understanding of local problems, in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Brazil and the Netherlands.

  • Reading project reports and policy documents
  • Analysing main findings and results
  • Synthesising lessons learnt
  • Drafting a study report and formulating recommendations
  • Other tasks to support the Programme Department
Who are we looking for?
  • A Bachelor or Master student in the Social Sciences, e.g. Anthropology, International Development Studies, Sociology, Law, Political Science or any other relevant educational background
  • You are available as soon as possible for at least 3 months, for a minimum of 3 days a week
  • You have strong analytical skills
  • You have good writing skills
  • You are able to work independently
  • You have an excellent command of English, both verbally and written. Dutch-speaking is an asset
  • You are a social person and enjoy working in a small team
