Fighting impunity

One of the main causes for the continued existence of commercial sexual exploitation of children is impunity. Perpetrators are often not legally prosecuted. Victims, for example because of fear of revenge, are not always willing to press charges against their perpetrators. Or the legal system in a country fails. This means that perpetrators often avoid punishment, victims are not done justice and there is a general signal to society that they can get away with sexual abuse. Free a Girl, together with local partner organizations, is working hard to tackle this impunity. That’s why we have set up the School for Justice.
