Girls in the favelas are very vulnerable. They are forced to prostitute themselves to earn an income at a very young age. This leads to severely traumatised children who often become pregnant and mothers at a very young age.
Alexia (17 years old) “I’m so glad I got a chance escape prostitution through education”.
Ramona (17 years old) "If there is no money for food, I need to earn money through prostitution on the street, even though I'm heavily pregnant. I have to take care of my child as well as my brother since my mother was killed by a drug gang.”
Diná (21 years old) “I overcame years of crack addiction and prostitution but it took a long time before I got my daughter back.”
